With the WSOP only a few more months away, it’s time for everyone to begin guessing on the number of entrants. I think there’ll be about a 1000 entrant drop this year, so a total of 5800 or so.
Last year actually saw a 500 entrant gain. However, that was well before the stock market crashes. I think a lot of people that win at a satellite seat at a US site (who can’t register people directly) will just keep the money. Also, from what I can tell, the European sites seem to be scaling back on their WSOP promotions…opting to focus more on EPT events and other stuff like that to promote. I just don’t see the WSOP holding its number of entrants this year, but I don’t see a cataclysmic drop either.
